Robby Perkins Sr. (Robert A. Perkins III), 61 passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2024. Born on March 24th, 1963, Robby lived an exciting and full life and enriched so many people’s lives. He was well loved by those who knew him. Robby was a well-known businessman managing high technology and bio technology companies. He was fluent in German, Spanish, and English, and grew up in Chicago and New Orleans. He was born into a disadvantaged home, briefly raised by his grandparents, and was later raised as a young man by “The Mercy Home for Boys." He graduated from St. Ignatius High School with honors earning a 4-year full scholarship to Stanford University's Undergraduate program. After graduating with a BA in Economics and International Relations, Robby gave his life to the US Peace Corps stationed in Costa Rica, as serving others was his lifelong mission. Randy Isaacs, known affectionately as “Big Red,” died of a heart attack doing what he loved, hiking out in nature. He was 59 years old. Randy was raised in Pleasanton, California, where he was a multi-sport student-athlete at Foothill High School, where he would later spend his career teaching, coaching, and mentoring students and players. Randy attended Columbia Community College in Sonora, California and Chico State University where he continued to play basketball. He traveled to Australia where he coached a Women’s basketball team and played internationally. After returning to the United States, Randy began his teaching career in the Pleasanton Unified School District, eventually transitioning to his Alma Mater. Randy’s career spanned 30 years and included teaching, coaching the Men’s Varsity Basketball team, and also serving as Athletic Director. William "Bill" Loesche, of Pleasanton, CA passed away at home surrounded by his family March 26. Formerly of Daytona Beach, FL and Honolulu, HI. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia; three children, Brenda, Joseph, and David; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen. Bill joined the Navy in Feb 1954. He & Pat were married in the territory of Hawaii in November 1957. He entered the University of Florida, Feb 1958, graduated with an EE degree and three young children. He joined Westinghouse in June 1962 with his assignments taking him to many locations. He left Westinghouse in June 1986, at the age of 51. He and Pat moved back to Hawaii and then traveled the world by ship, bringing home many wonderful stories and treasures. John Robert Nix, 79, of Pleasanton, CA passed away peacefully on his birthday, March 17th, 2024, while surrounded by family.  Some would say dying on his birthday (St. Patrick’s Day) gave voice to his Irish luck and signified the achievement of his purpose here on earth. On Wednesday March 13, we lost a bright light. Gay Fremier-Grimm was a strong woman with many interests and talents. She practiced Christian Science her whole life and was a staple in First Church Christ Scientist, Danville. In her over 20 year career as a Human Resource Director, she helped and was an inspiration to many. Gay was an artist- scrapbooking, photography, drawing and painting. She was an incredible mother and best friend to her daughter, Jeannine- always a shoulder to lean on and a supportive ear. Also an amazing wife, Gay and Gordon enjoyed traveling abroad, cruising, and trips to her childhood hometown, beautiful Carmel. In 2017 she became a nana and it suited her beautifully. Her grandchildren, Kai and Makena loved her with all their heart and loved their visits. There are no words to describe the ache we feel with her no longer with us. However, we remind ourselves, the only reason it hurts so badly is because she was such an incredible mom, wife and nana. We love you so much, Gay/ mom/ nana. Don passed away peacefully during his sleep on March 11, 2024 in his Pleasanton home. Just the way he wanted to go! He was born in Evanston, Illinois. Growing up in Kenilworth and Chicago, he also enjoyed a family summer home in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin. Don enlisted in the Navy in July 1944. During WWII he was stateside as a Flight Line Plane Captain. In 1948 he married his wife, Jean Page. They raised their two children, Tom and Linda, in the Montclair district of Oakland, CA and later moved to Pleasanton, CA. Don worked in the asphalt industry for over 35 years. He was honored to be a member of the American Legion and he was a Master Mason. Don loved flying and anything having to do with aviation. He played the organ and piano and liked fishing and animals. Don is survived by his son, Charles Thomas Crocker, daughter, Linda Crocker Randall, son-in- law, Kelly Gerard Randall, grandson Brendan Patrick Randall, granddaughter Sierra Megan Randall, and great-grandson, Lucas Alexander Randall. She was born Rosanne Celine Morrissey on November 20, 1933, in Dublin, Ireland, one of five children born to Patrick and Katherine Morrissey. Rose met the love of her life Maurice Holmes in Ireland. They married in 1956 and immigrated to Boston, MA later that year before making their way to California in 1962. They adopted three children, Garrett, Candy, and Scott. She worked in Accounts Payable at Hexcel for over 25 years. In retirement, she volunteered countless hours at St. Augustine’s Church. She was a parishioner for over 50 years and attended mass daily. Heinz Gewing passed away at the age of 91 in Dublin, California on January 21, 2024. Born on October 10, 1932 in Leoben, Austria, he spent his childhood in Shanghai, China, one of the only countries in the world that would accept Jewish refugees. Heinz and his family lived in a small apartment above his father's store, in an area known as the Shanghai Ghetto. It was not an easy life, but hard work, resilience and a sense of humor helped sustain them. After arriving in San Francisco in 1948, Heinz attended Lowell High School, graduated from UC Berkeley, and received his master's degree in educational counseling from Penn State. He and his late wife Lisa Gewing were married for over 50 happy years, raising their two daughters in Oakland, before moving up the California coast. Stanley ("Stan the Man") Klescewski, age 93, of San Ramon, California, died peacefully at home of old age on January, 17, 2024. Stan was born in Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota, on March 18, 1930 to Stan and Helen Klescewski, both of whose families immigrated from Poland. Stan grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin during the Great Depression with seven other siblings. Before finishing high school, he ran away from home at the age of 16 and joined the Air Force in 1949. He served for 3-1/2 years receiving jet engine mechanic training in Indiana and serving in the Korean War (Skull Airbase in England). He received his GED after leaving the Air Force and married his loving wife, Joyce Furst Klescewski in 1953. They were married until her death in April, 2019. Her first job after college was selling children’s clothes at Neiman Marcus in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. She decided to return home to Waterloo where she met and married Dale Reed on April 16th, 1955. 1943-2023 Lucy Margaret Morgan passed away on October 6th in Pleasanton, CA at the age of 80. She was a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Morgan, and her children John (Bonnie), Sharon, Christine (Jason), Annette (Hans) and her grandchildren, Elise, Kayleigh, Trevor, Jack and Ava, all of whom she was so very proud. She is also survived by her 12 siblings, Cecilia, Barbara (Roger), Theresa (Paul), Catherine (Bernie), Dolores, Rita (Bill), Bernard (Jamie), Gene (Kim), Leo (Jan), Marietta (John), Bernadette (Craig) and Jeanette (Bruce). Lucy graduated from Holy Names Academy on Capitol Hill in 1961, and then went to the Cabrini School of Nursing where she graduated as an RN in 1964. Richard L. Silla, Resident of Danville. October 4, 1928 - October 6, 2023. Rich passed peacefully at his home of 45 years, just two days after his 95th birthday. Born in San Jose, he attended Oakland schools, and upon graduation from Fremont High School, went to work for his father’s business, C.G. Silla Music Company. Two years later he joined the National Guard, and a year after that, he married Gail Killian, his high school sweetheart. Before being discharged from the Guard, Rich was sent overseas to serve a year in Korea. After that, he returned home to go back to work in what later became the family business, Silla Music Company. After their father (C.G.) retired, Rich, together with his brother Joe, ran the business until they both retired in 1991. Rich had a full life with Gail, his beloved wife of nearly 67 years. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Stephen (Steve) James Howell, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023. A decades long member of the Pleasanton community, he was 79, and a resident of The Parkview Assisted Living Facility. He was born on February 18, 1944, in New York, New York, to James Goff Howell and Sarah Frances (Flowtree) Howell. He and his family then relocated to Nebraska for a few years before making California their permanent home. Steve attended San Leandro High school where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Pam (Davis) Howell. They were married for 59 years and raised three children together. Steve served as a firefighter for the city of Berkeley for many years before attending Cal State Hayward and earning a bachelor's degree in political science. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully in her home. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Marilyn attended the University of Wisconsin, earning a BS in Childhood Development and Education. Here she met and married John Slade. They raised five children, each born in a different state. She started her career as a librarian, and continued her education, earning a Masters Degree in Library Science at Rutgers University. Her professional career also included information management at AT&T. After living in nine states and fifteen residences, Marilyn and John retired in Pleasanton. They were married for 63 wonderful years. She loved writing poetry and short stories, reading books, and traveling extensively in the US and abroad. Ann Frobose, a devoted follower of Jesus, went home to her Lord Sept. 25, 2023. She was 87. Ann’s lifelong love of learning was wide ranging. One expression of this was her extensive and deep study of Christian literature. Her sister, Pat Wahlen, said “She had a strong sense of God and Jesus and knew more about the Bible than anyone I knew.” Ann taught children’s Bible School for many years and led many Bible studies. She was a valued member in a variety of groups and communities. She maintained a lifelong bond with a group of classmates from Middlebury College. Pat was born and raised in Perry, OK and grew up surrounded by family, including an older sister, Peggy, and three younger brothers, Ralph, Don, and Ken as well as an extended network of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins remaining dear to her throughout her life. Pat was a proud member of the Studebaker clan, fascinated by the family history, in the '80s, she refurbished a 1960 Studebaker convertible to honor the family industry. Her interest further led her to travel to the birthplace of the Studebaker family in Germany, even meeting a few distant cousins along the way. Steve Pinto was born as the second of six children to his parents Larry and Ruth on December 7, 1952. He grew up in Oakland and graduated from Skyline High School in 1971. As the son of a 35-year veteran of the Oakland Fire Department, Steve joined the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) in 1974. His younger brothers Mark and Chris would end up working as firefighters as well (Alameda County and Berkeley) to cement a Pinto family legacy committed to fire protection in the East Bay.
