Bob Grimes, 80, of Pleasanton, CA, passed away on February 27, 2024. Bob was born in Oakland, CA, on December 30, 1943 and grew up in Oakland. He attended Fremont Senior High School. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Bob opened B & G Automotive Service in Pleasanton, CA on Division Street in 1970 and later relocated the business to Old Santa Rita Road in the early 1980s. He dedicated himself to the automotive industry until his retirement at the age of 70. His love for cars extended to racing, attending car shows and working on and driving his beloved 1964 Corvette.

A passionate golfer and car enthusiast, Bob enjoyed spending time at the Crow Canyon Country Club for 30 years. Bob & Marilyn made many life long friends at Crow Canyon Country Club. Bob was an active member of the Pleasanton Lions Club for 49 years.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn Goble Grimes; his children Steven Grimes (Pam Grimes), Jill Mitchell (Ken Mitchell), Gabriel Lucero; his grandchildren Mitchel Grimes, Morgan Mitchell, Reese Mitchell, & Gage Mitchell, as well as his siblings Cory Grimes, Karen Casebeer, Debby Leglu, and David Grimes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maury and Roselle Grimes.

A celebration of life will be held on April 4, 2024. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Pleasanton Lions Club, P.O. Box 266, Pleasanton, CA and Hope Hospice, 6377 Clark Avenue, Dublin, CA. 94568.
