Charles Alden Shaw

A graduate of Harvard and Syracuse Universities, former Pleasanton resident Charles “Chuck” Alden Shaw died peacefully at his San Rafael home at age 91 on February 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving children. Chuck began as an engineer at General Electric’s Electronics Park in Syracuse, NY. He finished his career in Silicon Valley, working for Cadence Design Systems on software for integrated circuits and coordinating their research programs at universities around the country. He and his wife enjoyed travel, volunteering and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Chuck is survived by his two brothers, Daniel (Fofo) and Joseph (Lyna) Shaw; two daughters, Amy (David) and Polly Shaw; four stepchildren, Tim (Cindy) Irish, Greg (Sherry) Irish, Shary (Robert) Smith, Wally (Tammy) Partridge; ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra Jeanne Shaw, and sister Betsey Bobrinskoy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
