Clifford Lee Luengo
Dec. 23, 1944-Jan. 12, 2025
Alamo, California

Clifford Lee Luengo, born on December 23, 1944, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025 shortly after his 80th birthday. He courageously battled cancer for over a decade and spent his final days on his own terms. He was lovingly surrounded by his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Clifford grew up in San Leandro, CA with his parents, Angelo and Rose, and two brothers, Norman and Douglas. He graduated from San Leandro High School, attended UC Berkeley and graduated from Cal State Hayward. His accounting degree and business acumen served him well as the founder and CEO of RB Construction, Inc. for 35 years. He is succeeded in the business by his favorite and only son, Christopher.

He was active throughout his life playing soccer, basketball, baseball, boxing and running. Forever a coach and a referee, he dedicated over 25 years to the local athletic community of the San Ramon Valley. He also had a deep love for gardening, hunting, horse racing, Bloomberg reports and ballroom dancing with his wife, Carole. He was a devout Catholic and avid supporter of Family Aid Catholic Education.

Whether a familiar face or first-time acquaintance, he would always impart his brand of infinite wisdom: “Never let the sun catch you sleeping” “Rule of 72” “Always Buy the Hook” (for sports fans) “I still have the first dollar I ever made” “It's always nice to have rich friends” “Everything is a compromise or a negotiation” “Close the far post!” “Have you looked at your Schwab account recently?” “Back elbow up so you don’t loop the bat” “Honey-Dos” “You can never have enough money - save it for a rainy day” and… “Isn’t Grandpa a really nice guy?”

Above all else, Clifford’s greatest love and legacy are his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He is survived by his cherished wife and partner in life, Carole of 39 years; his children, Kimberley (Paul), Christopher (Lisa) and Julie (Ryan); his step-children Don (Debbie) and Debbie (Wayne); his 10 grandchildren, Kaitlin (Jack), Samantha, Sienah, Lucas, Hayley, Sloane, Christopher (Jessica), Jennifer (Sam), Kevin and Christina (Jordan); and his great granddaughter Scarlett.

A service will be held to celebrate Clifford’s life on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM with a viewing prior, beginning at 9:30 AM, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA 94526. Celebration of Life reception to follow.
