Harvey Scatena Jr. passed away November 9, 2025 in Livermore California, he was 84. Harvey was born in Alameda, CA to Harvey and Lois Scatena, the first of three children. He lived in Oakland until he was 6 when the family moved to Castro Valley. At the age of 12 he began working weekends and summers for his father who had started Harvey Electric, an electrical contracting business. Harvey attended both Arroyo and Castro Valley High School, graduating in 1959, where he made lifelong friends and excelled at both wrestling and football. After graduation, Harvey started working full time with his father in the family business. In 1968 Harvey moved to Pleasanton where he started his family. He enjoyed being involved with his children as well as his community. In 1984 he succeeded his father in owning and operating Harvey Electric and retired in 2000 when his oldest son succeeded him.
In his retirement Harvey enjoyed hosting and spending time with his family and friends. His lifelong passion was working on and showing his hot rods, he belonged to several car clubs and volunteered at the Good Guys car shows. He also enjoyed golfing, doing home improvement projects, and following the Oakland A’s.
Harvey was a very kind, generous, and social person. Held very dear by all the people who knew him. No one loved or supported his children, family, and friends more than he did.
