Jan. 15, 1942-Dec. 18, 2023
Pleasanton, California
Jerry Boster, 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of December 18th, 2023. Born January 15th, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and later graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in physics. His career was spent in the transportation industry in multiple capacities, from overseeing mass transit vehicle manufacturing, to accident reconstruction, to owning a small car repair business. In his retirement, he was a doting "Grampa" to his three granddaughters. He loved to watch sports, especially football, and always had a funny joke or story to tell. He is survived by Carol, his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 58 years; son Rick (Heather); daughter Kathy; granddaughters Julia (fiancé Ryan Burke), Eva, and Anna, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Dorothy and older brothers Jim and Tom. The family wishes to thank A Gabriela's Villa in Livermore for the love and care they showed Jerry and our family the last three years. He will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 2pm at Valley Community Church (4455 Del Valle Parkway, Pleasanton). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be sent to Hope Hospice & Health Services (hopehospice.com) or the Superintendent's Annual Fund through the West Point Association of Graduates, which uses donated funds to support the cadets at West Point. (Go to alumni.westpointaog.org/giveonline and under gift details, select that you want to support annual gift funds, and then from the new dropdown menu that appears, select superintendent's annual fund)
