Larry Lindsey
Dec. 5, 1939-Dec. 8, 2024
Brentwood, California

Larry Lindsey, 85, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, after enjoying the 49ers' win over the Bears. Born on December 5, 1939, Larry lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way.

As the loving patriarch of his family as well as the chief planner, master logistician, and trusted advisor (sometimes unsolicited ;), Larry will be dearly missed.

After graduating from San Leandro High in 1958, Larry proudly served his country as an Army Reservist at Fort Ord. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1963 and then met the love of his life, Sharron. They married in 1965 and enjoyed 50+ years living in Pleasanton, raising their children, and serving the community.

During his decades-long career in banking and finance, including getting The Bank of Pleasanton off the ground in 1984, Larry was also an entrepreneur. He started, partnered with, and invested in several successful businesses in the Pleasanton area.

The 1980s was a time of critical growth for the city of Pleasanton. Larry was integral in guiding the rural town on the edge of the East Bay into a city of “Planned Progress.” He enjoyed his years with the Pleasanton Planning Commission, Rotary Club, and Chamber of Commerce. He was honored to receive the Annual Mayor’s Award in 1988.

Larry played poker and golf, but above all, he was dedicated to his family. He and Sharron loved attending music performances and cheering from dozens of sports sidelines. Their grandchildren will cherish summers spent in Pleasanton, swimming, bike riding, barbequing, golfing, and attending the Fair.

Larry and Sharron retired to Brentwood in 2019, where they enjoyed sunrises on their patio, wine club with friends, and beautiful summer-sunset golf cart outings.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Lindsey; his sister, Linda Appleton; and his nephew, Derek Appleton.

Larry is survived by his adoring wife, Sharron; his daughter, Sarah Campbell (Mark); his son, David Lindsey (Tricia); and grandchildren Joseph (Valeria), Ella, Olivia, Luke (Liv), Jack, and Logan; and his nephew Chris Appleton.

The family is holding a memorial service to honor Larry on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 12:00 - Summerset III Vista Clubhouse, 550 Baldwin Dr., Brentwood, CA.

Condolences can be sent to 1447 Bismarck Lane, Brentwood, CA 94513.
