Marilu Furey passed away on May 7th at her home in Vacaville, California succumbing to pneumonia. She was well liked in her community and will be greatly missed.

She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She and her husband, the late Richard Furey, moved to California in 1961, settling in Pleasanton in 1965. They raised 3 children; Mike, Lee, and Katherine and became prominent figures in the community. Marilu became a phlebotomist and worked at Valley Care Medical Center in Pleasanton until she retired in 1996. She later moved to Vacaville to be closer to her oldest son, Mike.

A true care giver at heart, before she became a nurse Marilu volunteered her time to care for the elderly. Even in her later years at Windsor House Convalescent Home she spent her days keeping busy helping fellow patients in every way she could.

She touched every life that she came in contact with with her kindness, wit, and colorful opinions . She will be greatly missed and live in the memories of her family and friends.
