On the morning of December 26, 2023 Melissa "Missy" Jane Cox passed away peacefully at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley Hospital in Pleasanton, California and was surrounded by her loving family. Missy was 56 years old and although she left us far too soon, she has enriched our lives forever with love and wonderful memories.

Missy was born on February 12, 1967 in Merced, California to parents David and Dolores Cox. She was the fifth born of seven children and lived in Pleasanton, California attending Walnut Grove, Harvest Park and Amador High School. Missy enjoyed playing sports including roller skating, ice skating and competitive soccer for the Pleasanton United Girls Al Caffodio soccer team. After high school Missy discovered her passion for working with people. Her strong work ethic and dedication helped build strong customer relationships earning her a professional achievement award with Clinique as a top sales woman. Missy’s continued ambition and entrepreneurial skills empowered her to become a successful business owner as she opened her own business in Dublin, California called Ra Tanning.

Missy’s favorite things included cleaning, decorating and organizing. She loved spending time with her family and friends whether it be for a special occasion or just to be with those she loved. She enjoyed various types of music, going to concerts in the park and spending time outdoors at the beach, boating, biking or simply in her yard with her beloved pets. But her greatest love of all was her faithful dog and companion Cooper.

Missy is preceded in death by her grandparents Joseph and Dollie, mother Dolores, siblings Michael and Jeff, and nephew Matthew. She is survived by her father David, siblings Michele, Crissy, Curt and Caryn, nephews Nicholas, Christopher, Dennis Jr., Jonathan, Jameson, Alec and Taylor, niece Halie, aunt and uncle Sherry and Bob, several cousins, and brother-in-law David.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life which will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 301 Main St. Pleasanton, California 94566 on Saturday January 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the East Bay SPCA since Missy was an incredible animal lover.
