Sarah Cadigan (nee Shively), born September 9, 1934, passed away in her home in Sequim, WA on November 11, 2025. A woman of boundless creativity, Sarah lived a rich and multifaceted life in England, Northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. Sarah’s lifelong passion for theater shone brightly in every chapter of her life. She acted with theatre groups in England, earning reviews in London newspapers that praised her talent and stage presence. She continued her theatrical journey in the United States, becoming an accomplished puppeteer, director, and producer of children’s plays for schools, libraries, churches and community centers. Her most recent stage role was in a local production of Immigrant Garden by Caroline Wood. Before coming to the U.S., Sarah worked at the London Zoo for renowned zoologist Desmond Morris as a scientific librarian, a role that reflected her sharp mind and love of learning. During her time in Hereford, she also read children’s stories on the Northern region of the BBC radio network, charming young listeners with her warmth and expressive voice. A devoted lover of books, Sarah was an avid reader and seller of literature, always eager to recommend a story or spark a conversation. She was also an active member of the Brit Club in Longview, where she found friendship, humor, and a sense of home. Sarah is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel Cadigan, her partner through decades of shared adventures, and devoted children—Pauline Berry, Claire Wagner, and Charles Shively. Sarah will be remembered for her vibrant imagination, her generosity of heart, her lively wit, and the joy she infused into every performance, puppet, and page. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the stories she helped bring to life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
