Lasting Memories

Antonio "Tony" Silva
Jan. 3, 1926-March 10, 2018
Pleasanton, California

Antonio Silva, 92, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side.

He was born in Castelo Branco, Faial, Azores. In 1959, he immigrated with his wife to the United States from the Azores Islands in Portugal and settled in Pleasanton. He made his career as a carpenter, building furniture and cabinets. He worked for the Pleasanton Cabinet Shop for 23 years before becoming self-employed. His craftsmanship can be found in many homes and businesses in our community.

Antonio was very proud of his Portuguese heritage. He enjoyed attending many Holy Ghost celebrations. Spending time with his family was number one. Traveling, cruising and vacationing with his motorhome brought him joy. Tony loved riding his bicycle around the neighborhood, stopping along the way to visit friends and neighbors. Watching soccer on TV was one of his favorite pastimes.

Antonio is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emilia, their two daughters and their spouses, Kathy (Lyle), Maria (Mike), three grandchildren, Kevin, Brittany and Kyle and one great-grandson, AJ. He is predeceased by his parents and seven siblings.
