Arlene Anne Bush
Feb. 19, 1936-April 7, 2025
Carson City, Nevada
Arlene Anne Bush, aged 89, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 in Carson City, Nevada. She was born in Schenectady, New York, to Anna and Joseph Weiss on February 19, 1936. She was raised in upstate New York until her father took a transfer to Santa Clara, California during her senior year in high school. She graduated from Lincoln High School in San Jose and met her future husband, Robert C. Bush, on a blind date in 1955. They married in 1956 at St. Martin’s Parish in San Jose.
While Robert was employed with Western Gear, they moved from Cupertino, California to Stamford, Connecticut and then back to Cupertino. It was a opportunity for Arlene to spend a few years closer to her east coast family. Robert started his own business in 1983 in San Leandro where Arlene was the bookkeeper, receptionist, payroll specialist and human resources director. They built their dream home in Pleasanton, California where Arlene lived an additional 13 years after Robert’s passing in 2012. Arlene and Robert spent many happy times at their cabin in Homewood, Lake Tahoe and enjoyed being part of the Lake Tahoe boating community. She enjoyed many hours riding around the lake in their restored classic Chris Craft sport boats. They were active members of the International Antique & Classic Boat Society, where they spent many years travelling all over the United States attending events and seeing friends. Arlene enjoyed her large family and is survived by her six children and spouses: Jane Castruccio (Tony), Tim Bush (Teri)i, Ann Bucher (Greg), Susie Cabri (Greg), Alice Beck (Steve), Ellen Martin (Tim) and 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
