The Turnbull Family will celebrate the life of Betty PC Turnbull (1927-2020) on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, exactly 50 years after we celebrated Herb Turnbull's Life at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 678 Enos Way, Livermore, CA.
Episcopal Priest Bill Doggett will lead the celebration, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. All are welcome to join us for the Memorial. When Herb Turnbull joined Sandia Labs in 1958, Betty and their toddler son James (b. 1956) moved to Livermore, and Andrew was later born in 1961. In 1969, Betty became a teacher for the Livermore School District, where she taught for over 30 years, retiring in 2001 at the age of 75.
The Turnbull family was active at St. Bartholomew's Church, Scouting Pack and Troop 900, Livermore Aquacowboys, and Livermore and Granada High. Betty became a widow when Herb passed in 1975.
Betty enjoyed Country Line Dancing from her mid-60s through her 80s, and she appreciated the attention she received at Sunol Creek Memory Care in Pleasanton during her final four years, passing away peacefully with her two sons present in May 2020.
Indeed, it has been a long time since both Herb Turnbull and Betty Turnbull passed away. Still, it's the right time to celebrate Betty and to inter Herb and Betty's ashes together at the St. Bartholomew's Church Memorial Gardens in Livermore.
