Lasting Memories

Carolyn Anita Namanny
Oct. 14, 1947-Oct. 20, 2019
Santa Rosa, California

Carolyn (Copeland) Namanny, a long-time resident of the bay area, passed Sunday the 20th of October at CPMC Bernal Heights Hospital in San Francisco.

Born in 1947 in St. Louis, MO to the late William and Hazel (Russell) Davis, Carolyn was blessed with a baby sister just before she graduated from Cleveland High School in 1965. The following year she married Darrel Copeland. The couple had two children before moving the family to California in 1980.

Carolyn remained in the bay area after a divorce in 1984 and raised her children by taking on various secretarial jobs. She was a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed friends within the group both in Missouri and California.

At the age of 59, she suffered a massive stroke due to a fall and impressed us all with her resiliency and faith in God. She often encouraged others to trust the Lord during trials.

In 2013, Carolyn married Dean Namanny in Maui. An animated story-teller and lover of history, Carolyn lit up a room and put others at ease with her warm smile. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going on walks but her favorite place was the ocean, which Dean took her to often.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dean Namanny, son, Craig (Julia) Copeland, daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Hallam, seven grandchildren, sister, Donna (Kent) Chism and two nephews.
