Lasting Memories
Gregory Curt Harris
Sept. 25, 1964-May 16, 2024
Pleasanton, California
Gregory Curt Harris, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother and friend, passed away on May 16th, 2024, at the age of 59 after a sudden and short battle with lung and brain cancer. Born in Vallejo, CA, and raised in San Jose, Greg dedicated his life to service and adventure. At just 17, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served as a Medic and Mechanic. Greg was awarded the Coast Guard Commendation Medal for his heroism during a daring rescue of two men stuck in the surf along the coast—a life-saving measure that highlighted his bravery and selflessness. He risked his own life for others.
In 1993, Greg entered his second marriage with Cindy, raising their four children—Scott, Lucie, Shelby and Tristan—in Pleasanton, CA. He found joy in fishing, particularly with loved ones, and was an all around great chef in the household.
Greg had a gift for fixing anything—whether it was cars, homes, or what ever needed repair, his hands were never idle. He was not only smart and handy but also had a natural ability to bring laughter to those around him. His stories and radiant presence left a lasting impression on all who had known or met him.
Greg Harris will forever be remembered for his kindness, love for his family, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others. He will be dearly missed and may he Rest In Peace.
