Kathy (Reeves) Kindred passed away peacefully and couragely in her Danville home five years after suffering a disabling stroke. Throughout her life, Kathy touched countless hearts with her kindness, humor, and deep commitment to helping others. She was an avid reader who loved sharing that joy by teaching others to read and inspiring a lifelong love of learning. Kathy changed many lives through her dedication to education.

Kathy was born in Berkeley, CA, to Ann Patricia and Doug Reeves. Reared in Castro Valley, where she graduated from Castro Valley High School in 1967. She continued her education at Northern Arizona State, Cal State Hayward and Saint Mary's College, always following her passion for learning and teaching.

She began her elementary teaching career in the Navajo nation, where she formed lasting memories. She later worked in the Murray School District in Dublin, CA as a reading specialist, then joined the Pleasanton School District, where she served as a Reading Specialist, Curriculum Specialist and Assistant Director of Pupil Services and Special Education. She also worked for the New Haven School District as Director of Pupil Services before returning to Pleasanton School District as the elementary Home Teacher contact. She is survived by her sister Debbie Reeves of Harrington Maine, niece Xica Reeves Hogan and Zica's children Boone and Cruz Hogan.. She treated Emily and Owen Clasen and Ali Adams like her own grandchildren, showering them with love and encouragement.

Kathy had a huge heart for animals, especially small rescue dogs who needed extra love and care. She enjoyed sewing, fly fishing, and spending time outdoors. Some of her happiest moments were spent at Pinecrest Lodge and Mosquito Lake with family and friends. She cherished the beauty of Mt. Shasta and the Northern Arizona wilderness, where she hiked trails and explored mountain roads with wonder and joy.
