Lynda Rodriguez
Feb. 22, 1949-June 10, 2017
Arizona City, Arizona

Lynda Kay (Sharpe) Rodriguez, age 68, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Lynda was born on February, 22, 1949 in San Pablo, California to Walter “Jim” Sharpe and Wanda Sharpe (Bryant). She was the oldest of four siblings. Lynda was married for 36 years to David Rodriguez, of Niles, CA. They separated January 2016 when she relocated to Arizona. Lynda graduated from Richmond Union High School in Richmond, CA in 1967. She studied music at Chabot Community College and Cal State East Bay in Hayward, CA. Lynda was an accomplished musician and played piano, violin, classical guitar and sang exceptionally well. She settled into a career as an administrative assistant, where she met her husband, David. She had two children, Robin and Heather, and stayed home with them when they were young and the family relocated to Texas. Lynda did not like living in Texas and often joked that Rice-a-Roni commercials made her homesick for California. Upon returning to California in the late 1980’s, Lynda became a Realtor in Alameda County, CA. Based in Pleasanton, she served the Tri-Valley as a Realtor for over 25 years. Lynda used her leisure time to learn to play golf, visit local beaches to watch the ocean, solve crossword puzzles, and spend time with her pets. She enjoyed cooking, and often joked that she could make any recipe, except for Rice-a-Roni. Lynda is survived by her immediate family, husband David of Oakley, California, her daughters Robin Rodriguez of Oakley and Heather Mackey of Livermore and their spouses, as well as four grandchildren. She is also survived by her three siblings, Carolyn Steinberg of Pasadena, Michelle Morgan of Big Bear Lake, and Jim Sharpe of Cape Cod, Massachusetts as well as much extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews, friends, and her companion Vince McCarrie. Lynda is predeceased by her parents, Walter “Jim” Sharpe (2001) and Wanda Sharpe (2016) of Turlock, CA. We ask that friends and family each memorialize Lynda in their own way. A formal service will not be held at this time. Please remember her when you reach out to family members and friends who may be struggling with alcohol addiction.
