Lasting Memories
Nancy Ellen Richardson
June 2, 1958-Sept. 2, 2013
Pleasanton, California
On Monday September 2 at 12:47 a.m., Nancy left us to be with God. She passed away at home with her husband Rick Von Pein and sister Susie Richardson at her side. Her sons, Tyler and Mitchell, her family and many friends were with her throughout the last weeks she was with us. She fought a long, incredibly brave battle with lung cancer. Throughout her fight she remained positive and in good spirits. Her last words were "It's all good."
She touched so many lives with her bright and fearless spirit, and could make anyone feel like her best friend. Between her smile and the light in her eyes, she made the people in her life feel special. She was always concerned about others and worked to make people?s lives better. She especially treasured being Tyler?s and Mitch?s Mom and we loved how proud she was of them.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Von Pein; sons, Tyler and Mitchell Von Pein; father, Brock Richardson; mother, Alice Richardson; brother, Steve Richardson; and sister, Susie Richardson
To all of Nancy's family, I just saw that Nancy passed in September. Saying I'm sorry doesn't seem like enough. But I am and my heart breaks for you. I played soccer for a number of years with Nance and so enjoyed being around her. I was fortunate to see her again at a soccer tournament ( where else :) ). We shared our cancer struggles. She felt well enough to come back out and play for a session. I hope she had as much fun being on the field as I did playing with her. I will treasure the memories I have of her. May you hold your memories close to your heart as that is where she will always be. Much love and light, Renee McManus
