Lasting Memories

Paula Mary Sledge
July 31, 1942-April 17, 2022
Danville, California

Paula Sledge (Mary Paula Brownlow Sledge) peacefully passed away on April 17, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her two sons, Scott and Timothy, her daughter in-law Heidi, her beloved sister Peggy, brother-in-law Jerry and niece Elizabeth. Paula had 6 grandchildren and 1 grandnephew (Renae, Conor, Logan, Tyler, Katie, Danny and Kyvon) whom will all miss her hugs and laughter.

Born July 31, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas, she graduated from Texas Tech University, where she met the love of her life, Don Sledge. They shared a remarkable life together blessed with family, travel, friendship from all over the world.

Paula taught at and ran the Valley Parent Co-Op Preschool for over 20 years and was passionate about developing young minds.

Former students would stop her in the street in their adult years to say hi. She left that kind of impression on the people lucky enough to be in her world. She also left her mark on the San Ramon area as a fierce fundraiser for John Muir Hospital and the Museum of the San Ramon Valley. She was a founding champion of the Museum and was often seen there welcoming visitors.

She is again with Don now, playing golf and eating Mexican food, cheering on the Giants and Warriors to more championships. A smile that lit up a room is gone but we know she is at peace.
