Lasting Memories

Rosetta (Rose) Marian Guinn
June 30, 1959-Jan. 27, 2019
Concord, CA

Rose Guinn passed away in hospice care in Alamo at the age of 59. She was born to Evelyn and Frederick Curtis in San Francisco on June 30, 1959. Growing up, she spent a significant portion of her childhood living in foster homes. She graduated from Ygnacio Valley High in Concord. Rose married Gerald Maurice Guinn in Carson City in 1979. They had two children together and Rose spent her time caring for them and volunteering for more than 20 years at the Clayton Library. She also served as a Girl Scout troop leader and taught preschool. Her hobbies were sewing and quilting. She regularly attended Bible studies and was known for helping others. A favorite memory was helping deliver her first grandson, Aaron Guinn, while her son, David, was working in China. She is survived by her children, David Guinn (Lili Zhou) of Alameda, CA and Rosetta McCloud (Andy McCloud) of Vancouver, WA; her grandchildren Aaron Guinn, Daniel Guinn and Griffin McCloud; her mother Evelyn Curtis; her sisters Cherrie Curtis of Patton, CA and Rita Curtis of Mill Valley, CA. Her dear friends Dawn Padelford, Barbara Padelford, Julie Anderson and Caroll Martin also survive her as do her 14-year-old cats, Merry and Pippin. Rose trusted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and decided to move into hospice care instead of continuing medical treatments for long-time diseases. The family thanks GraceWay Church, Pastor Barris and Night Light Ladies for serving Rose.
